Winters Spooktacular Fun Run and Costume Contest
The Winters Spooktacular Fun Run and Costume Contest takes place on October 25, 2026 at Rotary Park in Winters, California. The event is organized by the Winters Runners and Walkers Club and includes multiple race options and a costume contest with individual and best group categories.
Event distances and categories:
- 1 Mile Monster Dash (untimed)
- 1 Mile Adult (untimed)
- 5K Run or Run/Walk (timed) without shirt
- 5K Run or Run/Walk (timed) with shirt
- 10K Run (timed) without shirt
- 10K Run or Run/Walk (timed) with shirt
All race finishers receive custom medals. The 5K and 10K use chip timing. Registered finishers in the 1 mile adult, 5K and 10K receive a custom medal and a tech tee; those registrations also include one complimentary Hooby’s beverage redeemable on race day, with alcohol subject to age restrictions. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before October 9, 2026.
Route information: the 5K is a 3.1 mile loop around Winters starting and finishing at Rotary Park, passing the historic business district, residential streets and the Putah Creek Nature Park. The 10K is a double 3.1 mile loop plus an additional City Park loop. The 1 mile courses are out-and-back along the Putah Creek Nature Park walking path with a midway turnaround.
Notes: portions of the 5K and 10K are open to regular traffic and volunteers will staff intersections. Awards include top three male and female placements for 5K and 10K and costume contest prizes across races. Packet pickup and late registration occur the day before at Hooby’s Brewing and on race day at Rotary Park. Timing is provided by TCR Timing and event photography by Facchino Photography.
