Course and logistics
All races start and finish at Playfields Park. Courses are mostly flat and run along Davis greenbelts, neighborhood streets, and city streets. The half marathon passes through the Wildhorse Nature Preserve, alongside a golf course, through seven bike tunnels, and alongside Putah Creek. That course includes sections of gravel and decomposed granite totaling about 1 to 1.5 miles and a short gravel stretch near Barovetto Park. Chip timing is used and age-group awards are determined by net time. Water and electrolyte stations are placed approximately every two miles. Special divisions include stroller, dog, cancer survivor, adaptive, college student, first responder, and teacher categories. The event benefits Cancer Champions and uses volunteers for many race-day roles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
