About the race
The Davis Stampede is a recurring running event in Davis, California, organized by A Change of Pace and first held in 1983. The event takes place at Playfields Park in South Davis and offers multiple distance divisions that use city streets, neighborhoods, and the city's tree-lined greenbelts.

- 10K
- 5K
- 2K Family Fun Run/Walk
The half marathon course passes through the Wildhorse Nature Preserve, skirts a nearby golf course, travels alongside Putah Creek, and goes through seven bike tunnels. Course surfaces include paved city streets, greenbelt paths, and a short section of gravel or decomposed granite near the golf course. The route is majority bike path, and participants are asked to follow course etiquette that favors slower participants staying to the right.
Registration is handled online with fees that vary by date of entry, distance, and age; youth discounts apply. Packet pick up is available the day before the event and on race morning at Playfields Park; cash is accepted at packet pick up and on race day. Entries are non refundable and non transferable between events, with a deadline for transfers to another individual.
Awards are given to overall top finishers by gender and nonbinary category and to age group placings by net time. Several special divisions are offered, including a cancer survivor division, Davis residents, adaptive athletes, college students, and teachers.
