Winterläufe - The Winter Race
Winterläufe is a February running and walking event held in Frankenmuth, Michigan, at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant Family Crest Room, 713 S Main St. The event offers an 8K distance with both run and walk options and separate standard and economy registration choices.
Standard registration includes a long-sleeved cotton event shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. A Sport-Tek long-sleeve upgrade is available for an additional $5. The economy option omits the shirt and medal; limited merchandise may be available for purchase at the Winterläufe Store on race day.
Packet pickup is available at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant Family Crest Room on Friday, February 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, February 7 from 8:00 to 9:45 AM. While race-day pickup is offered, the organizer notes Friday pickup to simplify morning logistics.
Registration windows and fees vary by entry type. Many entries open on December 1, 2026 and close on February 11, 2027, with standard fees shown as $40.00 and economy fees as $25.00. The organizer indicates that registrations received after January 23, 2026 cannot be guaranteed a race shirt or finisher medal. Awards are planned for top finishers in each division.
