Winter Wonderland 5k and 10k at Gravelly Point
The event takes place December 20, 2026, at Gravelly Point in Arlington, VA, and offers two timed distances along the Mount Vernon Trail next to the Potomac River with views of the Washington Monument across the river.

The course is an out-and-back, paved route that runs south to Daingerfield Island and is described as fairly flat with no major elevation gains. The 10k course includes four water stations at approximately mile markers 1.55, 2.8, 3.4 and 4.65. The 5k course has one water station near mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some water stations. Port-a-johns are located adjacent to the parking lot.
This event awards the top three men and women overall and age-group awards for specified age brackets; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Participants receive a finisher's medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. A virtual race option is offered for those unable to attend in person.
Points earned at this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Fall Series. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration for this race. Live results are posted and final results with series points are published after the race.
