Rock Creek Reindeer Rumble 5k & 10k
The event is a timed running event held at Rock Creek Park on December 5. Distances offered:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The route is paved and mostly flat with one considerable hill. The 5k is an out-and-back course and the 10k is two laps. Water stations are placed along the courses: two stations on the 5k and five on the 10k at approximate mile markers 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7, and 5.6. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located across from the Tennis Center.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and electronic chip timing. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in the listed age categories; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Live race results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are published the Monday after the event. A QR code at the venue allows immediate result access.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available. Packet pickup is available at the event; there is no on-site race registration. Banditing is not allowed. Parking is available at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center.
