Rock Creek Reindeer Rumble 5k & 10k
The Rock Creek Reindeer Rumble is a set of timed road races held at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. Points earned at this event count toward the Year Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series, and also toward the Fall Series. A virtual run option is available.
Distances:
- 5k : out-and-back on a paved route.
- 10k : two laps on the same paved route.
The course is paved and described as mostly flat with one considerable hill. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Chip timing is used and runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (drifit) event shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before November 23; additional shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration fees listed for this event include a lower rate through November 15 and an increase thereafter; race-morning entries increase by $5 per distance. There will be no on-site race registration. Packet pickup is available at the event and organizers recommend arriving one hour before the event to check in.
Water stations are placed along both courses with Gatorade at some locations. Restrooms are located across from the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center. Live results are posted through an online service and a race QR code; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
Awards include top three men and women overall and first and second place male and female in standard age groups. Runners who place top three overall are not eligible for age-group awards. The event operates in all weather, though officials may delay or cancel if conditions warrant. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
