2026 HBI 5K & 10K
The event offers two chip timed road race distances that run along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal path in Georgetown, Washington DC. The course is on the C&O Canal towpath, a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change, and is set up as an out-and-back.

Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual run option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. A single water station is placed on the 5k course at approximately mile 1.55. Port-a-johns are located near the check-in area. Packet pickup is available at the event; the organizer recommends arriving early to allow time for check-in. There will be no on-site race registration for this event.
Live results will be posted online and a race-day QR code will allow immediate access to results. Series and final race points will be posted after the event. Runner tracking via SMS is available through the event registration process.
Awards include top three men and women overall and first and second place male and female in the listed age groups. Top three overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards.
