Event Overview
The Winter Wirral Ultra is a 36-mile circular running event with approximately 812 feet of elevation. The route is described as largely flat, making it the organizer's flattest ultra-distance event.
Route Details
The course follows the signposted Wirral Circular Trail in an anticlockwise direction. It starts and ends at Hooton Memorial Hall on the Wirral Way. The route takes in the Wirral Peninsula coastline before following the Wirral Way for the final 12 miles. The event is partially self-navigational, though additional signage is provided.
Participant Information
- Distance: 36 miles. The event has a 12-hour cutoff time and is open to runners and walkers. The terrain includes a lot of hard ground. Participation is limited to 430 participants, and the minimum age is 20. There are five checkpoints along the route offering water and snacks. Trophies are awarded to the first male, female, and non-binary finishers, as well as the first male and female in the 50, 60, and 70 age categories.
What's Included
