Event Overview
The Winter Wirral Ultra is a circular long-distance event covering a total distance of 36 miles. The course is primarily flat, featuring approximately 821 feet of total elevation gain. The route begins and ends at Hooton Memorial Hall, situated on the Wirral Way.
Course Details
Participants follow the Wirral Circular Trail in an anticlockwise direction. The path showcases the coastline of the Wirral Peninsula before transitioning onto the Wirral Way for the final 12 miles. While the trail features existing signage, additional markers are placed for the event. The course is considered partially self-navigational. The terrain consists of a significant amount of hard surfaces and is suitable for participants using road or trail footwear, as well as walkers.
Participant Information
The event has a maximum capacity of 430 participants and requires a minimum age of 20 years. A 12-hour cutoff time is in place for completion. Along the route, there are five checkpoints providing water and snacks for all entrants.
