Course and services

The route is a circular, largely flat course of 36 miles with about 812 ft of elevation. The route starts and ends at Hooton Memorial Hall and follows the well sign-posted Wirral Circular Trail in an anticlockwise direction, taking in the Wirral Peninsula coast before following the Wirral Way for the final 12 miles. Organisers add additional signs, so the event is partially self-navigational. The route suits road and trail runners and the 12 hour cutoff allows walkers to take part. The organisers note there is a lot of hard terrain, which may not suit runners who use only soft trails.

There are five checkpoints offering water and snacks. The entrance fee includes a finishers medal, drinks and snacks, and a GPS tracker for live tracking. An optional finishers t-shirt is available for £10. Trophies are awarded for top overall and certain age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
