Event overview
The CBTE Winter Wirral Ultra is a circular 37-mile event on Saturday 14 November 2026 that starts and finishes at Hooton Memorial Hall, Waterworks Lane, Hooton, Wirral. The route is limited to 430 participants and has a minimum age of 20 on the event date. There is a 12 hour cutoff, and the event is described as suitable for road and trail runners and for walkers. Entry fees are listed as £62 (affiliated) and £64 (non-affiliated). The entry package includes a finisher medal, t-shirt, water, snacks, and a GPS tracker for online tracking.
Course and support
The route follows the Wirral Way and the well-signposted Wirral Circular, with some additional waymarking and partial self-navigation. The first 12 miles follow a disused railway path, then the route continues along coastal paths. The surface includes a lot of hard terrain, which may not suit those who run only on soft trails. Total elevation is given in the event material as between 812 ft and 821 ft. There are four checkpoints on the course that provide water and snacks. Trophies are awarded for 1st male, female, and non-binary, and for 1st male and female in 50, 60, and 70 age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
