Winter Sugar Loaf
Winter Sugar Loaf is a fell race held near Abergavenny on Saturday 31 October 2026. The course covers 9.6 km / 485 m of ascent (listed also as 6 miles / 1,590 ft). The venue is The Crown, Pantygelli, grid reference SO302179. Entry is handled via Fabian4 and the fee is £9.
The route is partially marked and runners should not take short cuts. Runners must follow the main tourist path, using the stone steps to the summit of Sugar Loaf, to limit erosion. Full WFRA kit is usually required for the whole race and any runner who crosses the finish line without the full kit will be disqualified. October weather can be harsh, so participants should be prepared for variable conditions.
Parking at the venue is limited and lanes and access to farms and the pub cannot be blocked for the continued running of the event.
