Winter Predictor
Winter Predictor is a run/walk event held at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon. Participants choose whether to be eligible for Prediction Awards or for Non-Prediction Awards; each participant may be eligible for only one award category. To qualify for Prediction Awards, participants must not wear a watch or other timing device.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- 15K (9.3 Miles)
Entry fees are $30 for ages 18 and over and $20 for ages 17 and under; add $5 to all entry fees on race day. The entry fee includes the event, post-race refreshments, awards and prizes. Packet pick up is available on race day at Alton Baker Park from 10:30 to 11:45am.
Prediction Awards are given to the top 25 individuals, across all distances, whose finish times are closest to their predicted times. The overall fastest male and female and the male and female closest to their predicted times will receive a Champion Shirt. Timing is based on chip timing. Non-Prediction Awards are traditional age-group awards with the top three in each age group receiving awards.
A grand prize of $100 is awarded if a participant finishes in exactly their predicted time; if more than one person does so, the winner will be drawn from a hat. Course maps are available; GPS map distances are approximate and the actual distances will be measured with a USATF certification device.
