Turkey Trot Eugene : Alton Baker Park, Eugene, Oregon
Turkey Trot Eugene is a Thanksgiving Day road and trail event at Alton Baker Park that offers two distances:
- 5K
- 10K (third year offered)
The courses run mainly on the Ruth Bascom Trail network and include sections alongside the Willamette River. The revised course crosses the river twice and returns runners to the start location. Elevation gain is minimal. Course maps, a printable entry form, and a find-your-bib list are provided.
The event supports Food for Lane County and accepts food and canned goods donations in advance or on race day. The race is chip timed with timing chips included on the BIB pull-strip; participants are instructed not to detach the chip before finishing. Participants who pick up packets and do not run are asked to return timing chips.
No dogs are allowed on the course because of narrow sections and an out-and-back segment. Baby strollers are permitted but are asked to start toward the back or off to the side at the start area due to a relatively narrow start corridor.
Entry fees differ by distance and age group. Optional participant shirts are available for an additional fee, and a limited supply of prior year shirts may be sold on site. Age-group awards cover categories from 10 and under up to 80 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
