Event overview
The event offers three distance options:
- Half marathon
- 10k
- 5k
All races take place along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in Georgetown, Washington, DC. The half marathon starts and finishes near the Potomac Boat Club in Georgetown. The 5k and 10k start and finish at Fletcher's Boathouse. A virtual race option is available. Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing.
Course and logistics
The C&O Canal path is described as a light gravel dirt road or flat trail with minimal elevation change. Water stations are provided: seven stations along the half marathon, three along the 10k, and one along the 5k; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms include port-a-johns near the Georgetown registration area and indoor restrooms adjacent to the registration area at Fletcher's Boathouse. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing table but the organizer is not responsible for valuables. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration. Live race results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
