RDA Rare Strides, Long Beach CA
RDA Rare Strides is a community running event held on June 14, 2026 along the Long Beach path in Belmont Shores at 5400 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90803. The event offers multiple distance options and is presented by Rare Disease Advocates.
The event distances include:
- 5k
- 10k
- 15k
- Half marathon
The course consists of marked out-and-back loops on the beach path. The 5k is a single out-and-back route, the 10k is two 5k loops, the 15k is three 5k loops, and the half marathon is three 4.36 mile loops. An aid station at the turnaround/start/finish provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.
This is an open course on a shared path. Participants are asked to stay in the pedestrian path rather than the bike lane and to be courteous to other users.
Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, results posted within 12 to 24 hours, and an assortment of snacks and samples. Transfers are allowed by contacting the organizer; there is a no refund policy. A waiver is required and can be submitted before the event or at bib pick up. Free residential parking is available nearby; beach lot parking is paid in advance and managed via ticket machine or parking app zone 9372.
Rare Disease Advocates is a nonprofit organization focused on improving diagnosis, treatment, and financial support for people with rare and complex diseases.
