Fun in the Sun Running Event
The Fun in the Sun event is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Long Beach. This athletic gathering takes place on the scenic beach path in Belmont Shores, specifically at 5400 E. Ocean Blvd. The event is conducted on an open course, meaning participants share the path with other pedestrians and cyclists.
The routes are designed as out and back loops on the beach path. The following distances are available:
- 5 km (one out and back loop)
- 10 km (two 5 km loops)
- 15 km (three 5 km loops)
- Half Marathon (three 4.36 mile loops)
The half marathon distance has a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes. An aid station is located at the turn around at the start/finish area, providing water, Gatorade, and gels.
Registered participants receive several amenities, including a drawstring goodie bag, an assortment of snacks and samples, and free photos of the event. Every finisher is presented with a custom medal. Results are typically posted to the organizer's website within 12 to 24 hours after the conclusion of the event.
The check-in tables are located near 54th Place at the start of the beach path. Parking options include free residential parking or a paid beach parking lot where tickets can be purchased from a machine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
