Event Overview

The Fun in the Sun running event offers several distances on the beach path in Belmont Shores, Long Beach. The event takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Distances

Participants can choose from the following distances:

• 5k
• 10k
• 15k
• Half Marathon

Course Information

The course is described as an open, out-and-back route on the beach path. Participants are asked to be courteous to other path users. The routes are composed of loops:

• The 5k is a single out-and-back loop.
• The 10k consists of two 5k loops.
• The 15k consists of three 5k loops.
• The half marathon consists of three 4.36-mile loops.

One aid station is located at the start/finish and turn-around point, providing water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.

Registration and Logistics

Registration includes a custom finisher medal, drawstring goodie bag, free photos, and post-race snacks and samples. Results are posted online within 12-24 hours after the event.

There is a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes for the half marathon; participants needing more time can request an early start via email.

Bib pickup is from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM. The start time is 7:30 AM.

Pricing during the race month:

• 5k: $25.99
• 10k: $30.99
• 15k: $35.99
• Half Marathon: $40.99

Race day registration is available for cash, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal at higher rates.

Group discounts are available for five or more people via email. Registration transfers to another date or participant are possible via email, but there is a no-refund policy. Volunteers can receive a free race entry.

The event starts at 5400 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90803. Check-in is at tables near 54th Place. Free parking is available in residential areas, with a paid beach parking lot nearby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
