The Great White Chase Half Marathon
The Great White Chase takes place on May 31, 2026, at Alamitos Beach in Long Beach, California. The event offers multiple running distances and uses out-and-back loops along the beach path.
Distances and entry fees:
- 5K : $24.50
- 10K : $28.50
- 10 Miler (15K) : $34.50
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) : $38.50
Course details: the 5K route is used for the 5K (one lap) and 10K (two laps). The 5-mile route is used for the 10 Miler (two laps). The half marathon runs the 5-mile loop twice plus the 5K loop once. The beach path is an open course; runners will encounter other users. Runners are asked to keep to the right side of the path used by pedestrians while cyclists use the left.
On-course support: a fully stocked water station is located on course. The finish area has an aid station with water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks. First aid kits are available at each station, and crew members have received CPR training. Turns are marked with chalk, signage, and flags.
Logistics: bibs should be worn on the front of the shirt for time tracking and photos. A gear check is available at the registration tent; participants must provide their own bag. All finishers receive a race medal; overall first male and female in each distance receive first place medals. Results and photos are emailed the day after the event and posted on Instagram.
