Wings for Life World Run Locations - Toronto
The Wings for Life World Run in Toronto is an App Run event where participants run side by side with a global community. This race features a unique format without a traditional finish line. Instead, runners and wheelchair participants compete against a Virtual Catcher Car. The Virtual Catcher Car begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start at a speed of 14 km/h, steadily increasing its pace until all participants have been overtaken.
The event takes place on a short loop based in downtown Toronto. The venue includes:
- A refreshment station
- A local event setup
- A finishers area for post-race activities
Participation requires the use of the Wings for Life World Run App, which handles timing and race numbers. The event is fully accessible to wheelchair participants. One hundred percent of all entry fees and donations are directed specifically toward spinal cord research projects. Participants can track their progress and aim for personal distance goals, such as 5 km, 10 km, or 15 km, depending on their speed relative to the Catcher Car.
