Wings for Life World Run Locations - Orange

The Wings for Life World Run in Orange, Australia, is a global event designed for both runners and wheelchair participants. This App Run event takes place at Sir Jack Brabham Park. The race features a unique format where participants compete without a traditional stationary finish line. Instead, athletes run to stay ahead of a Virtual Catcher Car.

The course at this location consists of laps around an illuminated soccer field. Participants use the Wings for Life World Run App to track their progress and receive timing results. The Virtual Catcher Car begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start of the race, initially moving at a speed of 14 km/h. It gradually increases its speed until the last runner or wheelchair athlete is caught, which determines their individual finish point and race distance.

The event in Orange includes a local setup with a refreshment station for those taking part. All participants are joined by others worldwide in a simultaneous start. The project supports a global mission, with 100% of all entry fees and donations going directly to spinal cord research projects through the Wings for Life foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
