Lonely Mountain Ultra
The Lonely Mountain Ultra is a multi-distance trail and ultra event held on Mount Canobolas near Orange NSW. The program includes short trail races, longer trail distances, and multi-distance ultra-marathon options that run through the Canobolas State Forest.
Distances offered include:
- 11K trail run
- 22K trail run
- 32K trail run
- 50K ultra distance
- 50 mile ultra distance
- 104 km ultra distance
- 100 mile ultra distance
- 2 km kids event
- 4 km kids event
Courses follow fire trails, woodland singletrack and open pasture, and incorporate climbs to nearly 1400 metres. Runners traverse forest terrain and exposed sections with views across the NSW Central West.
The event records and publishes race results and event photography from each edition. Organisers acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Wiradjuri people, and request that participants respect the cultural values and environment of the area while on course.
