Wings for Life World Run : Miami
The Wings for Life World Run App Run in Miami takes place on May 9, 2027, at Museum Park Waterfront in Downtown Miami (Brickell). The local meeting uses a 3 mile loop that winds in and out of Museum Park. The site provides access by public transport, parking and is within walking distance for many residents.
This event uses a unique race format: instead of a fixed finish line, participants run alongside a Virtual Catcher Car that starts after the race and gradually increases speed until every participant is caught. Participation is via the Wings for Life World Run mobile app. The format includes both runners and wheelchair participants, and the local setup is accessible for wheelchair users.
Timing, race numbers, refreshment stations and local logistical details are provided by the organizer. Donations and entry fees are directed to spinal cord research projects; the organizer states that 100% of these funds go to such research.
