Wings for Life World Run : Dallas
The event in Dallas is an app-based running meeting on the Katy Trail with a local setup at Katy Trail Icehouse. Participants run along a route that is approximately 1.8 miles out and 1.8 miles back, forming a loop of about 3.6 miles (around 6 kilometers). The format replaces a traditional finish line: runners and wheelchair participants try to stay ahead of a Virtual Catcher Car that starts after the race and gradually increases speed.
The event is open to both runners and wheelchair participants and the venue is described as accessible for wheelchair participants. Local logistics include a refreshment station, timing and race numbers, and organizer updates. Participation is managed through the Wings for Life World Run mobile app; the app is used to join the global event from the local Dallas location.
Financially, 100% of donations and the entry fees are allocated to spinal cord research projects. The race organizer is Wings for Life World Run, and the Dallas meeting is one of multiple global locations that follow the same app-based, Catcher Car format.
