Wings for Life World Run : Adelaide
The event in Adelaide takes place at SA Athletics Stadium and uses a track format so participants stay together while running. Competitors run alongside a Virtual Catcher Car that begins chasing participants after the start; the race ends for each participant when the car catches them. Both runners and wheelchair participants can take part.
Local event features include refreshment stations and a goodie bag. Timing and race number are provided at the venue. Participation requires the Wings for Life World Run mobile app to join the Virtual Catcher Car format.
The event supports spinal cord research, with 100 percent of donations and entry fees directed to research projects. Organizers provide local updates and additional participant information through event channels. The Adelaide location is listed as accessible for wheelchair participants and includes local setup for refreshments and timing.
Distances achieved vary by how long a participant remains ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car; the track setting and stadium environment are intended to create a shared atmosphere for all participants regardless of pace. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
