Bay Sheffield
The Bay Sheffield is a two-day athletics carnival held annually at Colley Reserve, Glenelg on 27 and 28 December. The program includes track races for men and women, junior and veteran events, and races for para-athletes.
The feature races are the men’s and women’s 120 metre events competing for a share of a $16,000 prize pool. Athlete nominations open each November through the event’s nomination process. Spectator entry is free across the two days.
The carnival offers on-site hospitality and amenities, including entertainment, food trucks, coffee and a VIP area that provides premium viewing near the finish line with food and drink service. The South Australian Athletic League handicapping system is used to assign handicaps and aims to produce close finishes between runners of different abilities.
Key race structure
- 120 metres feature races for men and women, with prize money.
- Other races over distances from 70 metres to 3200 metres, including junior, veteran and para-athlete events.
Results and live program information are made available during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
