About the race
The Windward Half Marathon & 5K takes place at Kailua District Park, adjacent to Kailua Intermediate School, with the Ko`olau mountains visible along the route. The event offers road races on established local courses.

Packet pick up is available the day before the races at ALOHA FRIDAY WHEELWORKS, 326 Kuulei Rd, Kailua, with the shop facing the municipal parking lot and accessible from Maluniu Ave and Aulike St. Race day packet pick up begins early on the morning of the event. Onsite registration at the Saturday packet pick up and on race day is cash only unless registered online.
Timing chips are attached to the bib number and the bib must be visible from the front for a finish time to be recorded. Pre-race instructions will be given before the races and participants should ensure they start with the correct race group.
The course starts in front of Kailua Intermediate School. The Half Marathon heads toward Kailua Road and the 5K goes toward Kainui Dr. Police and course marshals will be positioned along the courses. The Half Marathon includes five aid stations and the 5K includes one aid station. Participants still on course must move to the side of the roadway and obey traffic laws during official closing procedures.
Limited parking is available at Kailua District Park. Additional parking is available at Kailua Library, behind Longs, along side streets, and at two metered public lots in Kailua. Restrooms and port-a-potties are at the park, and the Half Marathon course includes public restrooms at Enchanted Lake Community Park.
