Windward Half Marathon & 5K
The Windward Half Marathon & 5K takes place at Kailua District Park, adjacent to Kailua Intermediate School. The route features the Koʻolau mountains as a backdrop.
The event includes four distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- Half Marathon Strollers
- 5K Strollers
All races start in front of Kailua Intermediate School. The half marathon heads towards Kailua Road, while the 5K goes in the opposite direction toward Kainui Dr. The courses are described as flat. Police and course marshals will be present on the route. There are five aid stations on the half marathon course and one aid station for the 5K.
Bib numbers contain the timing chip and must be worn visibly on the front to receive a finish time. Pre-race instructions will be given on race morning. Packet pickup is available on race day starting at 5:00 AM. Onsite registration accepts cash only.
Parking is limited at Kailua District Park, but additional parking is available at Kailua Library, along side streets, behind Longs, and in two public metered lots. Restrooms and port-a-potties are located at the start area, with additional public restrooms on the half marathon course at Enchanted Lake Community Park. The course closes at 10:00 AM, and the finish line closes at approximately 10:30 AM or when the last finisher arrives. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
