JAL Honolulu Marathon
The JAL Honolulu Marathon takes place on December 13, 2026 in Honolulu, Hawaii, starting on Ala Moana Boulevard/Queen Street and finishing in Kapiolani Park near the beach. The event is the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles and offers additional distances during the race weekend.
Registration for the event is open online and is available to everyone aged over seven. There is no qualification requirement, no lottery, and no cut off time for finishing. Ticket categories include Hawaii residents, US mainland and Canadian residents, international entrants, military and student tickets, and virtual options. Group bookings receive discounts (10% for five or more entries, 15% for ten or more), and a payment plan option splits the registration fee into three monthly payments.
The course passes notable Honolulu landmarks and neighborhoods, including downtown Honolulu and Chinatown, Waikiki hotels and beaches, the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Shell, the loop around the Diamond Head crater, Kahala and Hawaii Kai, before returning along the ocean and into Kapiolani Park. Runners will encounter ocean views and multiple coastal sections.
Race logistics include packet pick-up at the Honolulu Marathon Expo held at the Hawaii Convention Center in the days before the race; packets are not mailed and will not be available on race day. The race packet contains a bib with an embedded timing chip. Finisher items include a shirt and medal, with post-race treats including freshly made malasadas and post-race festivities.
