JAL Honolulu Marathon
The JAL Honolulu Marathon is a 26.2 mile road race held in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 13, 2026. The event attracts over 35,000 participants from Hawaii, the U.S. mainland, and other countries. Registration is open to everyone aged over seven years and there is no qualifying time, no lottery, and no cut off time for finishing.
The course runs along Ala Moana Boulevard and passes key Honolulu landmarks and neighborhoods, including downtown and Honolulu Harbor, Chinatown, Iolani Palace, Waikiki and Kalakaua Avenue, Diamond Head, Kahala, Hawaii Kai, and finishes in Kapiolani Park near the Waikiki Aquarium and Kapiolani Park Bandstand. The route includes coastal sections, urban streets, and a loop around Diamond Head.
What is included with marathon entry: a race bib with an embedded timing chip, finisher shirt, finisher medal, post-race treats including freshly made malasadas, and access to post-race festivities. Packet pick-up is held at the Honolulu Marathon Expo at the Hawaii Convention Center with scheduled sessions on Thursday December 10, Friday December 11, and Saturday December 12.
Entry fees vary by residency and registration period. Example ranges: Hawaii residents $165–$255; USA and Canada residents $185–$255; international $190–$320. Group bookings for five or more entries receive a 10% discount. A payment plan option is available to split the registration fee into three payments.
