Santa Hat 5K and 1M Family Fun Run/Walk
The Santa Hat 5K and 1M Family Fun Run/Walk takes place at Ala Moana Beach Park on Magic Island in Honolulu. This holiday-themed event encourages participants to wear Santa hats while completing the course. The event features two primary distances:
- 5 km (5K)
- 1.61 km (1 Mile)
The 5 km distance includes a general division and a dedicated stroller division. If participants choose to enter the stroller division, it is not required to register the occupant of the stroller. The 1 mile distance is designed as a timed keiki race. While registration for the 1 mile is open to everyone, awards specifically recognize participants in the under 5, 5-9, and 10-14 age groups.
Awards are provided for the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5 km, as well as the top three finishers in five-year age categories. In the 1 mile event, awards are given to the top three overall boys and girls and top finishers in the specified youth age groups. All participants who complete their distance receive a Santa Hat keepsake.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army. Participants have the option to purchase a festive Santa Hat shirt during the registration process.
