Wincle Trout
The Wincle Trout is an annual hill running event organized by the Macclesfield Harriers & Athletic Club, typically held during the Wincle Fete in June. Participants tackle a challenging 5-6.5 mile course through the scenic Dane Valley and Gradbach, featuring notorious river crossings. The route changes each year based on the hosting farm, adding an element of surprise for runners.
In addition to the physical challenge, participants are rewarded with a trout and refreshments, including tea and cake, making it a festive occasion for both competitors and spectators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
