Wincle Trout
The Wincle Trout is a hill running event held as part of the annual Wincle Fete, which is usually on the second Saturday in June. The course runs around the Dane Valley and Gradbach and varies each year depending on which local farm is hosting the fete.
The senior course is approximately 5-6.5 miles and includes several river crossings on the route. Recent host farms have included Mellor Knowl Farm, Burnt House Farm, Brink Farm and Tolls Farm by the brewery. The 2027 Wincle Trout Run is scheduled for Saturday 12th June 2027 at Tolls Farm.
Results and race reports are published for multiple years, covering senior, junior and team categories. Race reports note the changing routes and the features encountered on specific years.
Runners receive a bottle of beer after the race, and refreshments such as tea and cake are available at the fete. The event is organised around the village fete format, so course details and logistics can differ from year to year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
