INFERNO - Edale's Ring of Hell is a trail race day on Saturday 22 August 2026. The event is based at Edale Village Hall, S33 7ZA, and is organised by Tough Trails Ltd. Races start in Edale, about a five-minute walk from the train station.
Distances and ascent:
- Ultra - 41 miles, 10,000 ft ascent
- Marathon - 26.9 miles, 6,400 ft ascent
- Half Marathon - 15.5 miles, 4,000 ft ascent
- 10 miles - 10 miles, 2,700 ft ascent
Course and race services
Courses use upland trail terrain including sheep tracks, muddy paths, rocky descents and a climb up a waterfall. The event is self-navigated. GPX files and a marked map are available to download. Organisers run social recces for each course.
Checkpoints are stocked with Mountain Fuel gels and a variety of food, including vegan options, and with fizzy drinks. The organiser provides finishers' medals; ultra and marathon runners have trackers for safety. The event includes sweepers, a first-aid trained race director, insurance, and donations to Mountain Rescue, the National Trust and Peak District National Park. There are compulsory kit requirements; the kit list and further information are available from the organiser. The event does not provide plastic cups at checkpoints.
