Winchester 10K

The Winchester 10K is a one-lap, closed-road road race based at Winchester Guildhall in The Broadway. The event traces its origins to 1983 when it began as a 10-mile race and adopted the 10 km format in the late 1980s. The course mixes city streets and countryside parkland, starting in front of the King Alfred statue, running up St George's Street, heading toward Kingsworthy, returning via Headbourne Worthy, and finishing at The North Walls Recreation Centre.

The event typically attracts over 1,500 runners. Entry options include chip timing and a finisher medal, with a no-medal entry available at a lower price. Volunteer marshals support the event; volunteers receive a credit voucher and community groups can earn a £200 donation for helping with marshalling. Road closures and diversion maps are published for the local area while the race is underway.

A Code of Conduct asks participants to show respect and sportsmanship. There is no official event car park; recommended parking is St Peter's, Gordon Road, approximately 800 metres from the start and finish. Chesil Street Multi-Storey is noted as free to park on Sundays in event information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
