Event overview

The Winchester 10K is scheduled for Sunday 22 February 2026 and is organised by Challenging Events Ltd. The road race uses the 10 km distance. It began in 1983 as a 10-mile event and changed to a 10 km format in the late 1980s. The advertised entry includes chip timing and a finisher medal; a no-medal entry option is also available. The organiser expects over 1500 runners.

Course and logistics

The race uses a one-lap closed road route that starts outside Winchester Guildhall in The Broadway, in front of the King Alfred statue, and finishes at The North Walls Recreation Centre. The route goes up St George's Street, out toward Kingsworthy, returns via Headbourne Worthy, and mixes urban streets with countryside parkland. Roads will be closed for the event; maps and full closure details are provided by the organiser. There is no official event car park. The recommended car park is St Peter's, Gordon Road, SO23 7DD, about 800 metres from both start and finish. Chesil Street Multi Storey is listed as about five minutes from the start and free to park on Sundays. Volunteer marshals can receive a credit voucher and community groups can earn a £200 donation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
