Event details

The Wilmington Historic Half, 10K & 5K is scheduled for December 5, 2026, in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. The start and finish area is at Riverfront Park, 10 Cowan St, Wilmington, NC 28401. The event offers in-person and virtual options for each distance. Entry fees shown include fixed amounts per event and a noted price increase date of January 6, 2026.

Course and race features

Courses use a closed route through historic downtown Wilmington and include passage over three downtown bridges. The Half Marathon and 10K run for over one mile along the riverwalk. The finish area is at Riverfront Park, where there will be music, beer from Wrightsville Beach Brewery and Oden Brewing Company, and food.

Every participant receives a finisher medal. Age-group awards are available at the Awards Tent; there will be no awards ceremony and awards will not be mailed. The Challenge combines the 5K and the Half Marathon for a total of 16.2 miles; Challenge registration includes a race bib, both finisher medals, a long sleeve shirt, and a bonus gift (bonus gift only for on-site participants). Challenge runners must complete the 5K within 45 minutes to remain eligible for the half marathon start; no late starts are permitted.
