Wilmington Historic Half, 10K & 5K
The event takes place Saturday, December 5, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, with the start and finish at Riverfront Park (10 Cowan St). Courses run through historic downtown Wilmington and include waterfront and bridge views.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles course includes 3 bridges and Greenfield Lake
- 10K 6.2 miles course includes 3 bridges and historic downtown
- 5K 3.1 miles loops through historic downtown to Riverfront Park
- Historic Challenge 16.2 miles combines the 5K and Half Marathon; 5K must be completed within 45 minutes to continue
There are in-person and virtual entries for each distance. In-person registration packages note a bib, finisher medal for each distance, and a shirt; the first 1,200 in-person registrants receive a bonus gift. Challenge registrants receive both finisher medals and a long sleeve shirt.
The finish area at Riverfront Park includes a post-race gathering with music, complimentary beer provided by local breweries, and food from a local BBQ vendor. Team entries are accepted and the largest team receives a prize from a local brewery. The race was voted the 2024 Best Half Marathon in North Carolina by RaceRaves.
