Wilmington Historic Half, 10K & 5K
Race day is December 5, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina. The event offers in-person and virtual options and includes multiple distances that use a closed course through historic downtown Wilmington.

All in-person courses pass through historic downtown and cross three downtown bridges. The Half Marathon and 10K also include more than one mile along the riverwalk. The start and finish are at Riverfront Park, 10 Cowan St, Wilmington, NC 28401. The finish area includes music, free beer provided by Wrightsville Beach Brewery and Oden Brewing Company, and food.
Every participant earns a finisher medal. Challenge registration includes a race bib, Half Marathon finisher medal, 5K finisher medal, a long sleeve shirt, and a bonus gift; the bonus gift is provided only to those completing the Challenge in Wilmington on race day. Challenge runners must complete the 5K under 45 minutes to be eligible to start the Half Marathon; there will be no late starts. Awards are available for pickup at the Awards Tent; there will be no awards ceremony and awards cannot be mailed. Age group brackets are listed on the event FAQ.
