Dashing Thru The Glow is a holiday evening event in downtown Wilmington centered on a run and walk around the Cape Fear River. The event is staged at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion, 10 Cowan Street, Wilmington, NC 28401, and includes activities tied to downtown holiday programming.

Both distances may be walked or run. Parts of the course are described as a little dark, and participants are encouraged to bring a headlamp. Finisher medals are distributed at the finish line to everyone who completes the 5K and the 1 Mile. Event swag includes a race shirt while supplies last, a light-up holiday beanie, a glow necklace, and cookies. Free pictures with Santa are available on site.
The event features a Best Dressed Runner costume contest and concludes with the Downtown Wilmington Holidays on the Water drone show; recommended viewing areas for the drone show run along Water Street from Grace Street to Dock Street.
Proceeds from the event support Coastal Horizons Open House Youth Shelter and Toys for Tots. The Open House Youth Shelter provides 24-hour shelter and supportive services for displaced and vulnerable youth ages 6 to 18, including counseling, educational and life-skill programming.
