Wild Watermelon 3k
The Wild Watermelon 3k is an athletic event held at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida. The course takes participants through the zoo grounds, passing various animal habitats and native plants. The event is designed to benefit the Brevard Zoo and is presented in partnership with the Florida Watermelon Association and Orlando Health.
Participants can choose from the following options:
- 3k run for adults (12 years and older)
- 3k run for youth (11 years and under)
- 3k virtual race
The course includes water and Gatorade stations at the start and finish lines as well as along the route. All participants are required to complete the course within one hour. After finishing the run, attendees can participate in a watermelon feast featuring fresh, chilled fruit.
All finishers receive a watermelon-themed medal and a commemorative running hat. Prizes are awarded to the top 10 overall male and female finishers. Race shirts are available as an optional purchase during the registration process. For those participating in the virtual category, race packets are mailed upon submission of required distance proof and mailing information.
