Wild Thing 5K and 10K - Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary
Wild Thing is a trail race held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, 472 West Mountain Rd, Lenox, MA. The event offers two distances and proceeds support Mass Audubon’s environmental education and conservation work in Berkshire County.
Runners follow routes through Kennedy Park and the sanctuary grounds, with a mix of single track trails and carriage roads. Expect uneven terrain and varying elevation along both courses.
Distances:
- 5K - route through hardwood forest
- 10K - longer loop using carriage roads and trails
Water stations are provided on course: the 5K has one station that is passed twice and the 10K has three stations. Water, sports drink, and light snacks are available at the finish area. Refillable water bottle stations are located at Pleasant Valley. Accessible restrooms including family and all gender options are in the big red barn.
Spectators may watch along the course and at the start and finish area. On leash dogs are allowed in Kennedy Park but are not allowed at the sanctuary start and finish area. On site parking is limited; roadside and field parking are used.
Participants may select optional age, gender, and distance categories. Race times are recorded even if no category is chosen. The field is capped at 300 runners. Packet pickup and in person registration occur at Pleasant Valley on June 12 and June 13. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
