Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series
The Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series is a set of trail races held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL. The series comprises three events with both short and long distance options. Courses include bluff views, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations are provided on course offering water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items. A sponsor provides pizza at the finish of each race.
Distances in the series:
- Frozen Yeti: 5 Mile and 10 Mile
- Frozen Trash Panda: 10K and Half Marathon
- Frozen Goat: 15K and 30K
The series bundle is capped at 250 runners. Registration closes on Fri, Dec 18 at 11:59 PM CT. Packet pickup is scheduled on specific days before each race, with additional limited pickup the morning of race days. Race shirts are short sleeve tri-blend. Finishers receive awards and series plaques, and age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ for all races. Organizers note very loose cutoffs overall and a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants. There are no refunds, deferrals, credits, or transfers and leftover shirts are donated.
