Racin' the Station Duathlon

Racin' the Station is a non-sanctioned USAT run-bike-run event held on the Army's Redstone Arsenal at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The event frames the course as a contest against the International Space Station as it completes a single Earth orbit in 91 minutes and 12 seconds; Marshall Space Flight Center tracks the ISS starting location and compares finisher times to that orbit interval.

The event offers individual and relay entries over the same overall distance. Segment distances are listed below.

  • Run: 3.14 km (1.95 miles)
  • Bike: 23 km (14.3 miles)
  • Run: 3.14 km (1.95 miles)

Registration opens April 21, 2026 and closes July 24, 2026. Published fees are $45.00 for the individual entry and $80.00 for a relay team entry. The event notice states that participants who register the week before the race must already have access to Redstone Arsenal. Only US citizens or persons already badged for official business may enter the Arsenal without restriction. Visitor applications, background checks, and recreation badges can take about one week to process, and access arrangements may be required for those without base credentials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
