Event Overview
The Wild Strides 5K is an inaugural running event held at John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids. Organized to celebrate Earth Day, the event supports wildlife conservation efforts. Participants traverse a scenic route that includes the Zoo grounds, the Grand Rapids Lantern Festival path, and surrounding nature trails.

Participant Details
Individuals participating in the 5K events receive a race t-shirt, a finisher's medal, and a ticket to the 2026 Lantern Festival. Those registered for the Kids Half Mile receive a race t-shirt and a finisher's medal.
The event takes place at 1300 Fulton Street West. The course spans a variety of surfaces, including zoo paths and nearby trails. Registration remains open until the day of the event, though pricing for the in-person categories increases after February 28, 2026.
