Turkey Trails - Grand Rapids
The Turkey Trails - Grand Rapids is a Thanksgiving-themed running event taking place at Helder Park in Zeeland, Michigan. The event utilizes the playground at Jim Kaat Ball Park as its central location and offers a variety of distances for different interests. Participants can choose between several timed and untimed options.
The available distances and event types include:
- Half Marathon
- 10k (Double out and back)
- 5k
- 1 Mile (Untimed)
- Kids Dash (Untimed for ages 10 and under)
- Virtual Race
Participants in the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon receive chip-timing with live results and eligibility for age group awards. These awards are presented to the overall top male and female, masters (40+), and the top three finishers in five-year age increments ranging from 10 and under to 80+. All registered participants receive a custom bib, a designer shirt, and a finisher medal. Those participating in the 1 Mile and Kids Dash also receive commemorative items, though these events are not timed.
The event features an after-party and treats at the finish line. Packet pickup is available on-site on the morning of the race. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option allows participants to run a course of their choosing and have their commemorative gear shipped to them following the event.
