Wild Irish Run
The Wild Irish Run takes place on March 13, 2027 and marks its 49th anniversary. The event is hosted by the City of Guntersville Recreation Department and is headquartered at the City of Guntersville Recreation Center, 1500 Sunset Drive, Guntersville, Alabama.
The event offers two certified races:
- 10K all-paved course through downtown and along Lake Guntersville, USATF certified course AL12015JD.
- 5K all-paved course along a scenic trail by Lake Guntersville, USATF certified course AL19009JE.
The courses include small rolling hills and are fully paved. The race is scheduled on the Saturday on or closest to Saint Patrick’s Day.
Awards and race items are distributed as follows. The top three overall female and male finishers receive a trophy and medal. Age division medals are awarded to the top three female and male finishers in each division. T-shirts and other items are provided in the race packet.
Packet pick-up is at the recreation center on Friday, March 12, 2027 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and on race day, March 13, 2027 from 5:00 a.m. - 6:30 a.m.
Registration opens October 1, 2026 and closes March 13, 2027. The registration fee is $25.00. To guarantee a shirt in a preferred size, register by February 21, 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
