Event overview
The Wild Irish Run takes place in Guntersville, Alabama, on Saturday closest to Saint Patrick’s Day. The 2026 edition will mark the race's 48th anniversary. Course, awards, and logistics
The 10K is an all-paved course with small rolling hills that goes through downtown Guntersville and along Lake Guntersville. The 5K is an all-paved course that follows a scenic trail along Lake Guntersville. Both courses are certified by USATF.
Trophies and medals are awarded to the top three overall female and male finishers. Age division medals are awarded to the top three female and male finishers in each division. Race packets include a T-shirt and additional items. Packet pick-up is held at the recreation center on the day before the race and again on race morning.
