About the race
The Christmas Classic 5K and Fun Run takes place on December 5, 2026 at the Arab City Park Historical Village in Arab, Alabama. The event is presented by Lifespring Baptist Church of Arab and includes a timed 5K and a short fun run for children.
Distances and event types:
- 5K: chip timed race with no time limit.
- 0.6 mile Fun Run: for children 12 and under; adults may accompany free.
The 5K will run mostly after dark. Glow in the dark items will be distributed at packet pickup and participants are encouraged to bring a small flashlight. Awards will be given for overall, masters, and age group finishers. A finish line celebration will include DJ entertainment.
Participants receive a race bib and a Christmas Classic T-Shirt is offered; T-Shirt availability is guaranteed for registrations completed by November 22, 2026. The Fun Run does not include a T-Shirt but one can be purchased.
Additional event features include refreshments, Christmas cookies, hot chocolate, Christmas music and singing, special events for various ages, and the park and Historical Village Christmas lights and decorations. Packet pickup and late registration are scheduled at Platinum Park in Arab and at the Arab City Park Historical Village on race day. Registration opens September 3, 2026 and closes December 5, 2026; the 5K registration fee is $30.00 and the Fun Run fee is $20.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
