Registration is at the start in Stoke Gabriel. Drop bags will be taken from registration to the transition area at Dolphin Boatyard.
Included services and administration: manual timing, swim caps, full water safety coverage, prizes when entry numbers allow, optional transport to the start, and finisher medals or a donation to Friends Of The Dart.
Course, distances, kit and safety
- 4k swim
- 15k aquathlon (includes a 4k swim plus a 10k run)
The 4k swim follows the river downstream to Dolphin Boatyard. Aquathlon competitors exit at the boatyard, move to a transition area, then run a circuit through Greenway Woods and quiet country lanes returning to the boatyard. All normal swim-run kit is permitted except flippers; hand fins are allowed but users will not qualify for podium prizes. Tow floats are permitted. Wetsuit rules: swimming without a wetsuit is permitted if water temperature is above 14°C; wetsuits are banned if the water is above 22°C. Safety cover includes kayakers, rescue boats and crews so that no swimmer should be more than 200 m from a safety vessel. A reduced swim course may be used if the water temperature falls below 11.9°C. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
