About the race

The Wild Christmas Charity Run is an annual event that raises funds for the Hospice of St Francis. It is the eighth edition and all profits from the event are donated to the hospice.

The event offers two guided options:

  • 8 km guided trail run
  • 4 km family friendly guided walk

Both routes are led by run or walk leaders who provide trail running tips and local information. The 8 km run will group participants by ability. The event is open to all ages; children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs are allowed but must use canicross equipment, be kept on lead at all times, and places for dogs are limited.

Location and facilities are provided at Church Farm Cafe, Aldbury. There is free on-site parking, a cafe, toilets, and a bag drop. The start is about a 15 minute walk from the nearby rail station. The event is limited in size, with 50 spaces available.

Every entry includes a mince pie. Hot drinks including mulled wine are available to purchase. A prize is offered for best fancy dress; fancy dress is optional. Participants are responsible for their own personal insurance and travel. Mandatory kit is required for the routes and further details are provided by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
