Wicked Wine Run - Rassawek Vineyards
The Wicked Wine Run takes place at Rassawek Vineyards in Columbia, near Richmond, Virginia. This event combines physical activity with wine tasting in a scenic vineyard setting. Participants must be at least 21 years of age, and identification is verified during the check-in process. The venue features on-site parking for a fee, and attendees often bring folding chairs or blankets to use at the event grounds.
The event offers two main distances:
- 5 km run or walk
- 1 km tasting walk
The 5 km course includes two hydration stations providing water. Participants receive an event shirt, a bib, and a finisher medal. Upon crossing the finish line, runners are provided with a glass of wine. The 1 km option is a walk that features three sampling stations along the route, with a fourth tasting provided at the finish line along with a souvenir wine glass. Attendees can also choose to participate in both distances.
Beyond the timed and untimed activities, the event includes an after-party with a DJ, food trucks, and various games. There are scheduled costume and dance contests where participants can win wine or themed merchandise. Spectators who do not wish to run or walk can purchase a tasting-only pass at the merch tent, which includes a glass and a bracelet allowing for wine purchases.
