The Cunningham Creek Wine Run is a chip-timed 5k held at Cunningham Creek Winery and Farm Store in Palmyra, VA. The course is a two-lap route through the winery grounds and vineyards, mostly on grass with some uneven sections and several turns; it is described as a scenic tour rather than a course for personal best times.
Registration includes a T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a chip-timed race bib, online posted results, and a pour of wine for eligible participants. The event is professionally timed and scored by J3 Timing, with results posted online. Minors may participate with a discounted registration; minors do not receive adult wine items.
Age group awards are offered in 10-year categories that span youth through 80 and over, with custom awards for top finishers in each category. Competitive entrants must start with the first group to be eligible for age-group awards; award pickup is available on the day of the event only.
The race proceeds rain or shine; in cases of severe weather the start may be delayed. Packet pickup is available on race day beginning one hour before the start.
