Wicked Wine Run - Babcock Winery
The Wicked Wine Run at Babcock Winery in Santa Barbara, California, offers a combination of physical activity and wine tasting. This event, held at 5175 E Highway 246 in Lompoc, includes two main distances for participants to choose from:
- 5 km
- 1 km
The 5 km course allows participants to run or walk the distance. Registered participants in this category receive an event shirt, a bib, and a finisher medal. A glass of wine is provided at the conclusion of the route. For the 5 km run, participants line up in a start chute according to their pace, with waves departing every two to three minutes. There are two water hydration stations located along the course and one additional station at the finish line.
The 1 km tasting walk is a separate event that focuses on wine sampling. This shorter route features three different tasting stations along the course where participants receive one-ounce pours. A fourth tasting is provided at the finish line. Participants in this category also receive an event bib, a wine glass, and an event shirt.
This is an age-restricted event, and all participants and spectators must be 21 years of age or older. Identification is required for age verification. The venue at Babcock Winery includes an area for an after-party featuring food trucks, music, and games. Attendees often bring foldable chairs or blankets for the festivities. Parking is available on-site for a fee, and spectator tickets are available for those who wish to attend without participating in the run or walk.
