Grinchmas Family Fun Run/Walk
The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, PLAY, Inc., and Central Coast Run Club organize the second annual Grinchmas Family Fun Run. The event is held at Edwards Community Center, 809 Panther Drive, Santa Maria, CA 93454, and benefits the Central Coast Running Club and People for Leisure and Youth, Inc. (PLAY, Inc).
The program includes multiple race distances and age categories:
- Tiny Who Toddler Trot for ages 3 and under.
- Little Who Mini Race for ages 4 to 6.
- Little Grinch 1-Mile Sprint for ages 13 and under.
- Grinchmas 10K for all ages, running only.
- Grinchmas 5K for all ages, run or walk.
The 10K, 5K, and 1-Mile events are timed. Awards are presented to the top three Men, Women, and Youth finishers in both the 5K and 10K. The 1-Mile Sprint recognizes the top three Youth finishers overall.
Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome. For safety, participants with strollers are asked to start toward the back of the group. Children riding in a stroller may participate at no additional cost with a registered adult; children who will walk or run the course need their own registration.
Event shirts are not included with registration but are available for pre-order; a limited quantity may be sold on race day. Each registered participant receives an official race bib and a Grinchmas finisher medal. Event parking is available at the Pioneer Valley High School parking lot off Panther Drive.
