About the race
The Grinchmas Family Fun Run/Walk takes place on December 13, 2026, at Edwards Community Center, 809 Panther Drive, Santa Maria, CA. The event is organized by the City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department together with PLAY, Inc. and Central Coast Run Club, and it benefits Central Coast Running Club and People for Leisure and Youth, Inc.
(PLAY, Inc). Race options include short youth heats, a 1 mile sprint, a 5K and a new 10K running course. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted on course. Participants are encouraged to wear holiday attire if they wish. Event timing notes that the 10K is a running-only race and the 10K, 5K and 1 mile races are timed.
Awards are presented to top finishers: top three Men, Women and Youth in the 5K and 10K, and the top three Youth overall in the 1 mile sprint. Event check-in is provided and participants should allow time for parking and walking to the event area. Event shirts are not included with registration but may be pre-ordered; a limited quantity may be available for purchase on race day. Each registered participant receives an official race bib and a Grinchmas finisher medal.
