Event overview
The Wicked Spooky event on October 31, 2026 takes place at Wicked Weed’s Funkatorium on Coxe Avenue in downtown Asheville, NC. The event includes an in-person 5k and a separate Creepy Crawly Climb for kids. A virtual 5k option is available and swag for virtual runners is mailed the week after race day. The event supports MountainTrue; a portion of proceeds will be donated to that nonprofit.

5k registration includes a finisher medal, a long sleeve race shirt, a donation to MountainTrue, chip timing, and the option of a Wicked Weed craft beer (21+) or a nonalcoholic beverage. Creepy Crawly registration is a flat fee and includes a finisher medal; a race shirt may be added for a fee. Strollers are welcome. Dogs are allowed at the brewery patio or beer garden but are not permitted to run with participants. Service animals are allowed with prior approval and supporting documentation; running with an animal will lead to disqualification from award categories and timing results.
Awards and policies
Overall awards and age-group awards are listed, with gift certificates and pumpkins for top overall finishers and pint glasses for age-group places. Virtual runners are not eligible for awards. The event has a no-refund policy and does not allow deferrals. Transfers to virtual status or to another runner or distance are allowed up to five days before the event; transfer options and race updates are managed by the organizer.
