Wicked Half Marathon : Salem, MA
The Wicked Half Marathon is a USATF certified half marathon held in Salem with portions of the course in Marblehead. The event uses a four hour time cap and includes course and elevation maps for planning.
Aid stations are distributed along the course at roughly 1.75 to 2.25 mile intervals. Stations supply water and/or Gatorade; some stations at Devereux Beach also offer energy gels, petroleum jelly, and portable toilets. Volunteers support the course and aid stations.
Packet pickup is offered before race day and at the race site; specific pickup locations include the event headquarters and the Salem Willows soccer field. Participants pre-registered by September 1 receive a custom long sleeve shirt. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal.
Parking is available in and around Salem Willows, along Fort Avenue, and near the Bentley School about a half mile from the race site. Parking is not permitted in front of private homes or in the neighborhood off Fort Avenue; vehicles parked there are subject to towing.
Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, the top three in each age group (Under 19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+), and the top three non-binary finishers. The event supports local charities and features post-race vendors, food and beverage options. Transfers and deferrals are free up to 9/1; later changes may incur a fee.
