Wicked Half Marathon
The Wicked Half Marathon is an annual road race held in Salem, Massachusetts. The event is a half marathon on a USATF certified course with course and elevation maps provided to participants. A four hour time cap applies to the course.
Aid stations are placed along the route at roughly regular intervals and offer water and Gatorade; some stations at Devereux Beach also provide energy gels, petroleum jelly, and restroom access. An earlier "Sunshine" start is available for slower-paced participants; water stations may not be available immediately for that start, so early starters should carry their own nutrition as needed.
Packet pickup is offered before race day, with a Saturday pickup window at the B&S headquarters and race day pickup at the Salem Willows soccer field. Pre-registered participants by September 1 receive a custom long sleeve shirt; all finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Additional swag may be purchased during registration or at packet pickup.
Parking is available around Salem Willows and at the nearby Bentley School; parking in front of private homes and in certain neighborhoods is prohibited and subject to towing. Awards include top three overall male and female finishers, top three in age group categories, and top three non-binary finishers. The event supports several local charities and maintains a defer and transfer policy that is free until September 1, with a small fee for changes after that date.
