Wicked Fast Marathon and Half Marathon Tucson, Arizona
The event offers a Boston-qualifying marathon and a half marathon on an all-paved course that descends from Biosphere Road, continues down North Oracle Road, and follows the Chuck Huckleberry Loop. The course has a net drop of 1,432 feet and features an initial six miles of gentle rolling terrain that transition into a long, sustained descent with panoramic Sonoran Desert views.
The courses are USATF certified with numbers AZ26001JOE (marathon) and AZ26002JOE (half marathon). Race logistics include bib pick up at Road Runner Sports (7113 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson) and a finish area at 1830 W. Overton Rd., Tucson/Oro Valley. Pre-race bus transportation runs from the finish area to the start. Bag drop is available at both start lines; runners must attach the tear tag from their bib to their bag for transport to the finish. The event enforces a 6.5 hour race cutoff, equivalent to a 15 minute mile, with a course sweeper for participants who cannot finish.
Medical coverage is stationed at the marathon midpoint (mile 13) and at the finish, with ATV support along the course. Portable toilets are positioned at the start, mile 8, mile 21, and the finish. Split timing and athlete tracking are provided, and participants receive a race bib, timing chip, pace band, custom water-wicking shirt, custom race bag, a finishers medal, and race photos.
