White River 50M/50K/25K
The event is a set of trail races near Greenwater, Washington, with the start and finish at Ranger Creek Campground (also called Buck Creek Recreation Area). The courses run in the White River valley and nearby ridges with views of Mt Rainier, mostly on single track and forest roads. Terrain includes ridge tops, northwest forest, steep climbs and technical sections with rocks and roots. The final miles of the 50 mile course follow shaded old growth forest and technical single track.
Distances:
- 50 Mile - 10,200 ft gain and loss; 6 aid stations; cutoff about 14.5 hours
- 50K - 5,900 ft gain and loss; 3 aid stations; cutoff about 12 hours
- 25K - ~3,700 ft gain and loss; 1 aid station; cutoff about 7 hours
Course notes: the 50K follows the 50 mile route for the first part of the course and then returns to Ranger Creek Campground. The 25K follows the shared route to the Palisades then takes the Ranger Creek Trail back to the start. Aid stations are staffed and stocked with water, electrolyte drink, snacks, basic first aid items and menstrual products. Drop bags are allowed for 50M and 50K at aid stations; the 25K has no drop bag or crew access.
Logistics: the event uses a cup less policy so runners should bring a cup, bottle or hydration pack. Ranger Creek Campground offers primitive camping on a first come, first served basis with toilets but no showers. A parking pass is required for vehicles parked on federal land.
