White Elephant 5K/10K/Half Marathon - Chattanooga
The White Elephant 5K/10K/Half Marathon in Chattanooga is a holiday-themed road event that features three distances along the Tennessee River walk. The course follows the river path and is described as pretty flat. The half marathon is run as two laps of the designated route.
Athletes choose a shirt size at registration, but the actual race shirt is wrapped as a surprise. After finishing, each participant unwraps a bundled surprise that includes a previously issued race shirt and a finisher medal. Performance awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in five-year age groups, beginning with 10 and under.
Self-serve water stations will be available approximately every 1.5 miles. A virtual race option is offered for participants who cannot attend the event site; virtual entrants submit results online and can view results after the event date.
Key registration dates and fees are published for regular, late, and race-day registration. Regular registration ends on 11/28 and late registration ends on 12/05. Fee examples include regular prices of $30 for the 5K, $35 for the 10K, and $50 for the half marathon, with higher rates for late and race-day entry. Team and fundraising options are also available.
