2026 Grateful Gobbler 5K
The Grateful Gobbler 5K is an annual walk/run held on Thanksgiving Day at Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, TN (150 River Street). The 2026 event is presented as the 27th Annual Grateful Gobbler 5K and is organized by Grateful Gobbler.
All registration fees, sponsorships, and donations from the event are directed to support families experiencing homelessness. For 2026 the organizers state that 100% of proceeds will benefit families served by the Maclellan Shelter for Families and the upcoming Provident Place shelter. The Maclellan Shelter currently provides 52 beds; Provident Place will expand capacity to 134 beds and will offer wrap-around services including emergency shelter, meals, medical care, childcare, transportation, job readiness training, individualized family coaching, and up to one year of post-shelter support.
Renovations for Provident Place are expected to begin in the fall, with the facility scheduled to open in late summer 2027. When Provident Place opens, the Maclellan Shelter will close and current residents will transition to the new facility.
Packet pickup and t-shirt options are offered prior to and during the event, with an option to have shirts mailed beginning November 12. The event lists a range of ticket prices and notes that no refunds are available. Examples of donation impact provided by the organizers include: $25 for cleaning supplies, $50 for laundry supplies, $75 for toiletries, and $150 to help stock the shelter pantry.
