Fitness Central Turkey Trot 2026
The Fitness Central Turkey Trot returns to Chattanooga, Tennessee, for its 36th running on Thanksgiving morning. Hosted by the Chattanooga Track Club and Fitness Central, this historic event serves as a community tradition that supports youth and adult running and fitness programs. The event features multiple distances to accommodate different levels of participation:
- 4-Mile Race: A USATF certified, chip-timed competitive course.
- 3-Mile Family Walk / Jog: A non-competitive, non-timed event.
- Kiddie-K: A 6/10 of a mile run for children aged 12 and under.
The 4-mile race is a timed competition where runners can earn Adult ROY points. Cash awards are provided for top overall winners, masters, grand masters, and senior grand masters in both male and female categories. Age group awards are also presented for first, second, and third place finishers across various brackets ranging from 12 and under to 80 and over. Additionally, a best costume award is determined by a crowd vote.
The 3-mile family walk and jog follows a route down Brainerd Road to Jubilee Drive and back. This specific event is stroller-friendly and dog-friendly, provided that dogs remain on leashes. Participants in the Kiddie-K receive medals, with special awards for the fastest boy and girl.
The event is centered at Fitness Central on Lee Hwy. Participants who register early are guaranteed a T-shirt in their preferred size. Any shirts not collected by the end of race day are donated to local non-profits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
